What is Dermaplaning and who can benefit of it ?
Dermaplaning is a professional skin treatment that involves using a sterile surgical blade to gently scrape the skin's surface, removing dead skin cells and fine facial hair (peach fuzz).
This process exfoliates the skin, leaving it smoother, brighter, and more radiant, and it can also improve the absorption of skincare products and create a flawless makeup base.
The treatment is non-invasive and generally safe for most skin types, but it's important to avoid sun exposure and irritating products immediately after the procedure.
What happens during a dermaplaning session?
A trained professional uses a specialized, sterile surgical blade, like a scalpel, and holds it at a 45-degree angle to the skin.
The blade is methodically brushed across the face to carefully remove dead skin cells and fine vellus hair.
The treatment can take about 20 to 30 minutes.
The skin is often soothed with a serum and moisturizer, and sunscreen is applied at the end of the session.
Benefits of dermaplaning
✨Exfoliation: It removes a buildup of dead skin cells, revealing a fresh, healthy complexion.
✨Removes peach fuzz: It eliminates fine facial hair, which can make skin look and feel smoother.
Improves product absorption: Removing the top layer of dead skin allows for deeper penetration of skincare products.
✨Smoother makeup application: It provides a smooth surface for makeup, resulting in a more flawless finish.
✨No downtime: It is a non-invasive procedure with no required downtime.
✨Won't cause thicker hair growth: Dermaplaning cuts the hair at the base, but it does not affect the follicle, so hair does not grow back thicker or darker

Aftercare and maintenance
👉🏻Post-treatment: You should avoid steamy showers, makeup, and touching your face for about 24 hours after the treatment.
👉🏻Sun sensitivity: Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun, so it is crucial to apply sunscreen consistently.
👉🏻Irritating products: It's best to avoid harsh or irritating skincare products for the first 48 hours.
👉🏻Maintenance: Depending on your skin, a professional treatment every two to four weeks is often recommended to maintain the results.
